There’s still a long time until the primary and we haven’t seen who Newsom will support. However, if we do get a Republican governor it will be bad, but I don’t think we will be doomed. As long as the state legislature has a supermajority in both chambers (like it currently does) bills can be veto proof. There’s also the opportunity of recalling the governor. So for now it’s a wait and see.

Ideally, I feel like the more candidates are running, the better; and we need better ways to dilute the power of this two-party system.
