No one wants the Swalwell story to be true

But that doesn't make it fake.

I will probably lose followers for this, but I do not care.

The scariest thing on social media in the past month is how people have reacted to the accusations against Eric Swalwell.

It’s like, all of a sudden, everyone became an incel.

The idea that it’s just become acceptable to say “unless I personally see proof, I don’t think these women were assaulted.” is something I’d expect from incel men. It’s not something I expect from everyone else.

Mrs. Frazzled literally has everything to lose. She gains NOTHING from this. She is putting her entire life and career on the line. She was a teacher, and then started doing gentle parenting comedy content and now she’s a full time political creator and she is trustworthy.

She would never post anything without having the information to back it up. It’s like if Rachel Maddow said “I have just received evidence that something happened but it’s sensitive and we’re with a lawyer to figure out how much we can share.”

Would you say she was lying? Or would you trust her cause she’s earned your trust that maybe she actually has something?

Mrs Frazzled has been trying to get news outlets to pay attention FOR MONTHS. If you look at her account and see how long she’s been vague posting about this, it’s longer than that.

She didn’t want to be the one to break the story cause, well, you’re seeing why. But it’s not just even what you’re seeing, it’s 100% worse behind the scenes.

She didn’t wait until after he could drop out, she’s been working her ass off trying to get this story out in a way that her and her family would be safe.

She had to talk to lawyers first, and find lawyers for the women and the more she talked about it, the more women came forward. It’s only because of the vague posting that they have as many survivors as they do.

And everyone’s first thought is “but she supports Katie Porter.”

Let me be the first to say, she might vote for her, but that’s not her first choice, her first choice is my first choice, Tony Thurmond, who impressed both of us, MONTHS ago, but he has no money and no chance of winning, so we’ve both pivoted.

And guess what, I pivoted to Swalwell, and I trust Mrs. Frazzled with my life. I know people who were personal friends of Swalwell that dropped their personal friendship because of what we’re learning.

I don’t like Katie Porter for a long list of reasons. But if she is ahead in the polls when I vote, which, for the first time will not be the day or week I receive my ballot, I might vote for her, because she’s lightyears better than any possible Republican alternative.

I am coming to you as someone who wanted Swalwell saying that this story is real. I trust Mrs. Frazzled, not just because she’s my friend but because I also know how much she has to lose if it wasn’t.

There are some grifter influencers, god, so fucking many, but a lot of us work really hard to be trustworthy. Being a trusted source is THE MOST important thing to me. I spend HOURS searching for the sources of stories I share.

Even before we were friends, Mrs. Frazzled was one of my trusted sources. I know she does the work and would NEVER post or talk about something she didn’t have full evidence for.

Traditional media is losing its credibility, but if you don’t trust ANYTHING replacing it? Well, that’s how we got here, that’s how Trump became president twice.

It should set off alarm bells for you how Swalwell’s team is trying to accuse her of being MAGA. How they won’t use her name. How all of these articles in REPUBLICAN CONTROLLED PUBLICATIONS are treating her as if she’s just a random lifestyle TikToker.

I thought Me Too was a wake up call that women are terrified to come forward and that they are risking EVERYTHING by doing so. Apparently not.

I am seeing people who follow me and have trusted me on everything else I’ve ever posted but think I’m spreading lies about this. Do you know me at all? I don’t post disinformation. I painstakingly take as much time as necessarily to make sure everything I’m posting is factual.

And I am telling you, I TRUST THIS.

There IS an article coming out. We ALL hope it’s today or tomorrow, but we are relying on traditional media to do their jobs. Which is a fucking scary thing to rely on.

I’m not posting my long form video about Dems this week. Because I don’t know how this is gonna shake out. I don’t want to platform someone who defends Swalwell. That’s how seriously I’m taking this. If you know anything about me, you know how RARE it is for me to say something like that.

So, stop acting like Republicans who are skeptical of anything that moves or that shakes up their belief system. If you must see proof with your own eyes, so be it, but in the meantime don’t make things worse, and don’t help Swalwell accuse one of the strongest progressive creators I know of being MAGA out to get him.

We only get a Democrat on the California Gubernatorial ballot if the polling changes fast. Don’t help Swalwell compete for the top. I don’t know about you, but I don’t want to have to choose between an abuser and a Republican.
