Supporting our schools has several very specific components, before we even look at curriculum. Feed schoolchildren: no one learns well when hungry. Pay teachers enough so they don't need a second job to make ends meet: it's harder to teach well when exhausted. Hire enough teachers and assistants so class sizes are manageable and students can get individual attention when they need it. Plan recess time at least once in the morning and once in the afternoon: all that sitting still is hard on kids, they need breaks to run around or just chill.

Curriculum: let it be planned by people who know and care about these children and know something about the learning process. The goal of schooling should be to open children's minds and teach them to think for themselves.

🧮⚕️Good on Jeffries for getting the House Democrats in lock-step! That's not easy. And I love Jim McGovern. He's just tells it like it is and is not afraid to say what needs saying.

🧮⚕ The DNC-Jeffries-Schumer-bashing happens frequently here on Substack. As a non-American, I suspect some people here on Substack probably wished Democrats got into ACTUAL physical brawls with the Republicans and treated them like the enemy which Newt Gingrich encouraged Republicans to do back in 90's. McGovern could've hit Comer with a chair and some people here would go wild.
