Resources

r/VoteDEM is the only thing that got me through November 2024. It’s a community with the same values as I have, from local wins to election information.

TurboVote is a fantastic resource that does everything from sending out election reminders to helping you pre-register to vote if you’re under 18. No matter what you need, there’s a helpful resource for you here.

The Media & Democracy project has a local journalism directory so you can find nonprofit or independent publications in each state. As conservatives buy up publications, this is a great resource to find trustworthy ones across the country.

Track your ballot using Vote.gov. If you vote absentee, there’s always a chance your ballot can be thrown out (thanks to Republicans making voting harder). By tracking, you can be notified of issues and correct them before the deadline.

Do you want to know how our Dems are voting? The clerk’s websites (House and Senate) are your best friend. You don’t have to trust social media to tell you how someone voted. Bookmark these pages to know yourself.

About the Author

Ariella Elm (they/she) is a queer, Jewish, disabled political content creator and voice behind The Daily Elm, offering the antidote to doomerism through stories of Democratic fighters. They strive to inspire activism from a place of hope, rather than fear.

You will never see Ariella post something without a primary source or extensive, transparent research (unlike everyone who profits from outrage or misinformation).

If you only take away one thing, make it the mantra that our voices and our votes are our superpower, but only when we use them.
