I absolutely love your work and it really helps me to get through the day sometimes when things are looking particularly bad. I don't know if I fully agree with you on this one, though.
I know that we should be trying to focus on the good things Dems are doing, and I agree that they have been doing quite a bit. But it is hard to hold them in such high esteem sometimes when they do things like shut down the government for the longest in history and get next to nothing out of it. Or they vote to memorialize a transphobic glorifier of gun violence. I realize that it is only certain actors within the party, primarily, that are causing these issues, and I am trying to remember that. Yes, the vast bulk of the hate needs to be directed toward the GOP, but some of the hate directed toward Dems is justified.
I am not trying to say that we need to just be piling on them all the time either. We need to be acknowledging when they do something right as well, and we need to be prioritizing those things in this critical midterm battle. Dems are the opposition party, and we have to help people understand how they are the better option. But they are not perfect either.
I also don't know if completely ignoring anything we don't like is the right idea. We need to know what is going on and we need to be questioning our leaders - ALL of them. And we don't want to fall into the same trap many on the right do, where they only surround themselves with sources that reinforce their confirmation bias and just embed themselves deeper within the cult.
Anyway, as a whole I understand and agree with most of what you are saying, and I am not trying to cause trouble. It is also possible that I misunderstood what you said. But I worry that if we start engaging in voluntary ignorance and acting like our leaders can do no wrong, we are becoming more like the cult we wish to oppose.
Lots of good news amid the bad. Thanks! As ICE begins to go into redder areas, like Indianapolis and Kansas, I'm expecting more and more ordinary people will be repelled.

Great post today! Thanks So much.
Thank you, Ariella. I know that some (most) days it’s a deep dive to find these notes of positivity, but they do keep the doom at bay for me. 🥺🫶🏼
Thanks you always make me feel less doomed need more of this
Ariella, how much of this negative commentary do you think is coming from actual Democrats, and how much from trolls and bots?
I think it always starts with bots, but then actual Democrats jump on
