PLEASE can we coalesce around re-funding the IRS so that it can audit ALL wealthy Americans every year or every 2 years?? I can’t fathom any Democrat who could be against this. The rich get away with not paying taxes due to their fancy lawyers and accountants who can hide money. They are also just brazen enough to not pay, confident their lawyers will get them out of anything illegal with a slap on the wrist. Biden’s increased funding for the IRS was making us millions in regular taxes wealthy people owed but did not pay, and paid back once audited. This is about simply enforcing existing tax law - that’s it! Not even raising taxes on the wealthy (which is not certain to do much if we can’t even enforce it).
Regular Americans have their taxes deducted from their paycheck and don’t get this special opportunity to withhold what they owe to the gov’t. I am so fed up. It needs to stop.
