Three Wins Today: Sept 3, 2025
Don't feel guilty if you didn't watch
I just want to say, for everyone who didn’t watch the Epstein’s survivors testimonies, and is feeling guilty, don’t.
You are not required to put yourself in an unsafe position to say you support the survivors.
I have OCD, and not the kind you typically hear about, the kind where my brain tells me I am a bad person or something bad will happen to my loved ones, and I can do nothing to shut it up, except to wait it out.
So I am absolutely not doing anything that could lead to me being out of commission for any period of time, just to prove I care about something.
This is one of the main reasons I focus on wins. Because a lot of things trigger my OCD and I don’t want my brain to stop me from doing my job.
So, if you feel guilty, stop right now. The people who were able to watch it, watched for all of us.
On that note, new subject, Wins!
Nationwide
Thu, Aug 28 - Our Dem Attorneys General are asking to pause their lawsuit against the frozen AmeriCorp funding. Why? Trump caved with just the threat of a lawsuit, but they’re staying, just in case the Admin tries to go back on their deal. Massachusetts AG Andrea Campbell said:
While I am glad that, faced with our lawsuit, the Trump Administration has rightly decided to release $184 million in critical funding that helps Massachusetts residents serve their communities, the damage that this Administration continues to cause our Commonwealth cannot be undone. AmeriCorps is the epitome of public service and civic engagement, yet the Administration’s reckless actions created chaos, uncertainty, and cost people their jobs, simply for wanting to give back. Our lawsuits are working, and we won’t stop fighting to hold the federal government accountable when they harm our residents.
There is so much damage happening every single day, but while we can’t save the lives already destroyed, which is very hard to accept, this win makes sure more lives aren’t destroyed going forward. They can never replace the work AmeriCorp wasn’t able to do these past few months, but they are making sure it can start again, and that matters way more than it feels like it does.
Not to mention, Trump caved, and that is a win every single time.
Philadelphia, Pennsylvania
Tue, Aug 26 - Philly DA, Larry Krasner was on Medias Touch and said that if ICE breaks PA laws, the federal government can’t help them, and they will be taken to court:
But we have another very important tool, and I want the public to hear this, and I want them to understand that you are not alone and that important tool is called state prosecution. The President of the United States has zero ability to pardon someone who is convicted in state court…If you have people coming in, military, ICE, whoever it is, acting beyond their legal authority, they can be prosecuted, assuming they commit crimes in state court and cannot be pardoned by the president, which means they get to tell a Philly jury exactly why it is that they thought they could invade this city.
I don’t normally cover stories that have already gotten as much attention as this one has, but, back in May, there was a primary for his seat. My friend
explained why this race mattered so much at the time:It was in May, so the vast majority of people weren’t paying attention, but enough people were that he won, handedly, I might add. Keep in mind, the guy he ran against in the Dem primary is now his Republican opponent, no I’m not joking. And that election is Nov 4.
The point is, imagine if enough people hadn’t come out and this Republican, Patrick Dugan had won, or, somehow were to win in November.
Voting matters, this is just another instance of just how much.
San Diego, California
Sun, Aug 31 - A group of volunteers got together in Hillcrest San Diego to add their own rainbow crosswalk in chalk in solidarity with Orlando Florida.
This weekend, our Hillcrest community came together to chalk a rainbow crosswalk as a show of love and solidarity with Orlando.❤️
When their rainbow crosswalk at the Pulse Memorial was painted over, protesters filled it back in with chalk to honor the 49 lives lost. Inspired by their courage, volunteers here in Hillcrest gave their Sunday morning to remind us that love cannot be erased.
To our San Diego LGBTQ+ family and allies: thank you for showing up, standing tall, and proving once again that pride is stronger together. 🫶🏳️🌈
Now, Hillcrest currently doesn’t have any permanent rainbow crosswalks because they all had to be ripped up to make way for their new Pride Promenade which will turn part of Normal st. into a queer family friendly pedestrian paradise.
It is not set to open for another year, so this was a great excuse to get a pride crosswalk back in the area, at least temporarily.
We all have to stand up for each other right now and show Florida, and every other state that’s likely to follow suit, that we are not backing down and will be ready when they no longer have the power to dictate what street art can exist.
So I hope these wins helped make your day better!
Our voices are our superpower, but only when we use them!
