Three Wins Today: Sept 15, 2025
Fear sells, that's why they want you scared.
I know my whole brand is a huge reminder of this, but I wanted to give a specific reminder too. When people, orgs, publications, and corporations stand up, it’s forgotten about within a day. When they bow down, it’s talked about till the cows come home.
Take ESPN and ABC who didn’t remove the boos from Trump during the US Open Men’s Final broadcast, even though they were told to by USTA. When was the last time you heard about that?
But what about the bill that was just introduced and will go absolutely nowhere, in fact it was already pulled, to allow Marco Rubio to revoke passports? Was it the post before this one? Maybe you saw it in the last hour?
Fear sells. You’re going to see things that make you scared so much more than you’re going to see things that give you hope, and that is 100% by design.
People want to quote and repost things that will get them views, and good news doesn’t get views, so it doesn’t get the same amount of attention.
Please remember this when you’re feeling helpless and full of despair.
There are ALWAYS wins, having to search for them doesn’t mean they aren’t there it means you are fighting back just by finding them.
Now, onto some of those wins!
Philadelphia, PA → DC
Sat. Sept 6-19 - We are right in the middle of the We are America March. I’m gonna let them explain what the march is all about:
The We Are America March represents more than just a walk—it's a people's movement that began on September 6th when regular Americans set out from Philadelphia's Independence Hall, carrying a copy of the U.S. Constitution on a 160-mile pilgrimage to the steps of Congress. With each day, more neighbors have joined for rallies, family picnics, teach-ins, miles, days, or the entire journey to Washington.
This is the kind of event that we need to be doing more of and lifting up. The power in events like this come from the strength of the people on the March but also the amplification of their fighting across the whole country, and that’s just not happening like it should be.
They did this for the first time nine years ago, and they’re back, cause we need it again.
You can watch their kickoff event below:
Johnson County, Iowa
Wed Sept 10 - Supervisor Jon Green did something incredibly brave. CK had just been assassinated, and he sent a letter to Johnson County leadership that he would be defying the Governor and would not fly the flag at half staff for CK, only 9/11:
In conformance with the Governor's order, our flags will fly at half staff tomorrow in remembrance of 9/11. Further guidance will be forthcoming.
I ask that we keep all victims of gun violence, including the slain Colorado students, at front of mind as we serve. There is no national database, and so we're unlikely to ever know how many we lost today, Wednesday, 10 September. For most of us, this date will pass. For far too many, this date will now become the worst anniversary of their lives. Please extend whatever grace you are able, to the neighbors we serve, for we know not of their burdens. I say this knowing you and your staff do so, every day. On behalf of the Board, and with grim determination - Jon
He further elaborated on Facebook:
I condemn Kirk’s killing, regardless of who pulled the trigger or why. But I will not grant Johnson County honors to a man who made it his life’s mission to denigrate so many of the constituents I have sworn an oath to protect, and who did so much to harm not only the marginalized, but also to degrade the fabric of our body politic.
All I can say is wow. This is not safe to do in Iowa, though, the fact that Governor Kim Reynolds hasn’t said anything probably means she can’t do anything about it. But I’m certain there will be a recall petition. I will keep you posted on that, cause if and when that election comes we have to make sure he keeps his seat.
And he’s not the only one on the Board, in fact, he says he did this on behalf of the Board. He is the one taking the fall, but this clearly comes from, at least a majority of the five member board.
This is what standing up looks like. This is what fighting back looks like, this is what not bowing down looks like, and I hope we see more and more of it going forward.
Thank you Jon Green for your courage and principal.
Harris County, Texas
Sat, Sept 13 - The Harris County Democrats have a yearly gala, The Johnson Jackson Lee Richards Gala. It was organized at the Hilton because of their union worker policy. However, the workers in UNITE HERE Local 23 went on strike and it doesn’t look like that strike is ending anytime soon. So, instead of crossing the picket line, for this year, the gala has been canceled.
The county party, along with several elected officials joined the picket line on Saturday, and chair Mike Doyle made the announcement:
Our gala has been planned for months in part, because this is a union facility, the first one of the city of Houston to recognize that workers deserve a voice. But we also recognize because, not just in my DNA, my grandfather was a union organize , but in the the DNA of the Democratic Party and the Harris County Democrat party, all those refineries, all the work done, was done by union hands in this county. And, as a result, our JJR, which we planned for September 20, for months, lots of preparations, we’ve decided, and today’s announcement that we’re gonna cancel it, because they’re not negotiating in good faith.
I hope this announcement gets them even more donations than the gala would have. You can donate to the Harris County Dems and UNITE HERE Local 23
So I hope these wins put a little pep in your step, and you find a way to DO SOMETHING today!
Our voices are our superpower, but only when we use them!

You are correct...the media has done this for decades. Fear and violence is sexy so it sells. However, pure human interests and truth takes a back seat and gets papered over.
Thank you for the reminder that when people/orgs/businesses stand up it's so quickly forgotten by media! Negativity bias is so real and we need to counteract whenever possible
