Three Wins Today: Nov 7, 2025
The blueprint is affordability
I need people to stop saying NYC Mayor-elect Zohran Mamdani’s win proves that Democratic Socialists need to run in every race around the country, or that New Jersey Governor-elect Mikie Sherrill is the blueprint for all Dems looking to run for office.
There is no blueprint, just like we don’t have a leader of the Democratic party, and, you know what? That’s a good thing. That proves that we are the party we are meant to be.
We aren’t a cult. We don’t agree on everything. But we do agree on some things. We agree on the intrinsic value of a democracy. We agree that everyone should be able to afford to not just be alive, but to thrive. That’s what makes someone a Democrat. And on Tuesday we proved that most Americans want those things too.
We have to stop trying to find a Democratic party leader and lift up the dozens of leaders we already have.
We have to stop trying to fit the Democratic party into a box, and celebrate that because we are so diverse, there is truly nothing stopping us from having clean sweeps like Tuesday, except ourselves.
We have to stop expecting every Democratic leader to be on the same page as each of us individually on every subject and focus on amplifying all the times that they are.
I think I’ve talked about this before, but I have a shirt, I’ve had it for over two decades at this point. It says: “I’m a Democrat because I think and because I care.”
And that’s really what it comes down to. We are Democrats because we think for ourselves. We are Democrats because we care about healing and protecting and improving the world.
Anyone who agrees on those things too is part of our blueprint. Our blueprint isn’t about one person, it’s about each district and what they need to throw their support behind someone. It’s a spectrum all the way from Joe Walsh to Zohran Mamdani, and that’s a strength, not a weakness.
Do not try and undermine the needs of a district with your attempt to get the perfect candidate elected. Tuesday is our blueprint. Run everywhere and run the best candidate for that specific district. If we do that, the Republican party’s dominance will soon be a distant nightmarish memory.

New York
Mon Oct 27 - Clinton appointee, Judge Sidney Stein has ruled that the class action lawsuit from several authors, against Microsoft and Open AI can move forward, after Open AI attempted to claim that they didn’t directly copyright George RR Martin’s words.
That argument completely fell apart when Judge Stein began reading excerpts in the courtroom:
A more discerning observer could reasonably conclude that the allegedly infringing outputs are substantially similar to plaintiffs’ copyrighted works. Though the ChatGPT-generated summaries submitted by plaintiffs do not recount “[e]very intricate plot twist and element of character development” in the original works, they are most certainly attempts at abridgment or condensation of some of the central copyrightable elements of the original works such as setting, plot, and characters.
This goes on for the entire 18 page ruling, quoting different sections and coming to the same conclusion.
He even specifies that it doesn’t need to be a “discerning observer,” literally anyone who can read could see the similarities:
Though the Court concludes that the “more discerning observer” test is applicable, its conclusion would be the same if it were to apply the “ordinary observer” test because the Court concludes that an ordinary observer could reasonably conclude the allegedly infringing outputs are substantially similar to plaintiffs’ copyrighted works.
How sad for Open AI. Looking forward to this class action moving forward.
Delaware
Mon, Nov 3 - Governor Matt Meyer has created a new office, entitled “Office of New Americans.” And it’s probably exactly what you think it is. It’s an office dedicated to supporting the immigrant community.
He said:
When immigrants arrive in Delaware, they don’t just add to our population—they strengthen our neighborhoods, enrich our culture, and build businesses that benefit all Delawareans. The Office of New Americans will be responsible for ensuring every immigrant has the support they need to succeed in our state, and I’m thrilled to have selected Rony Baltazar-Lopez as its inaugural director, who I know will lead this office with integrity, empathy, and efficiency.
Baltazar-Lopez has been a fixture of Delaware politics and activism, especially in the immigrant community, for the last five years.
He said:
“As the son of immigrants, I am deeply honored to lead the establishment of the Office of New Americans. Immigrants are vital to the strength of our economy, the richness of our culture, and the fabric of our communities. It’s time we fully recognize and support their contributions. This new office will ensure that immigrants have access to the resources, opportunities, and tools—such as workforce development and language access—needed to successfully build their lives in Delaware and across the United States.
This office is more important now than ever. I look forward to seeing what they’re able to do.
Las Vegas, Nevada
Wed, Nov 5 - The City Council adopted a new ordinance surrounding pets, overpopulation and dangerous breading practices. Among other things, the council determined that several pets can no longer be sold in pet stores. These include:
Dogs
Cats
Rabbits
Potbellied pigs
Guinea pigs
Pet stores can still be responsible for the transaction, but they must work with a shelter. Right now this only applies to new pet shops, but this will apply to all by the end of 2028.
And for anyone concerned about how this could affect pet owners, they said:
This doesn’t mean Las Vegas residents can’t bring home a new pet, it means future pets are more likely to come from rescues, shelters and responsible breeders. Local rescues and adoption centers often partner with pet stores for adoption events, so residents will still have access to a wide range of pets while helping reduce animal overpopulation.
This is very cool and will probably make sure there are more shelters available for more animals, so that more can find their forever home.
So those are some of today’s wins. I hope they’re a reminder that there are always more than three wins, you just have to look out for them.
Our voices are our superpower, but only when we use them!

You’re right and you should say it!
Yes!!! This is exactly right!! 🩷
