I couldn't agree more about people running for something small. Even at the local level, I prefer people start with boards & commissions, then city-level positions, etc. instead of jumping into state-wide races. Build your "street cred" and name recognition first!
I agree! AOC is definitely the exception. I am starting this year with being elected to be the secretary of my local democratic club! π Itβs a super small position for sure, but I will learn a TON and be more ready when I run for something slightly bigger next year.

I mostly agree with you, but... AOC. She's such an important voice in Congress, and this is her first elected position.
She is now. But she absolutely wouldβve been stronger out of the gate if she had had a previous position
