An independent candidate, supported by Democrats, won an election for our town council president, He beat the incumbent, a Trump-like candidate supported by right-wing Republicans. This happened in an area where registered Republicans outnumber registered Democrats. There are no national implications in this election, but it shows that when Democrats work hard at local elections, they can bring about change.

For tomorrow, possibly: Salt Lake is adding pride designs to the city’s official flags so they can continue to fly them. https://www.threads.com/@slcmayor/post/DJVO4TXy9qr?xmt=AQF0DIuVuhm-f74c2kYepQfqQi6gF5IvdzOwXW7ou2Urww

As someone who lived in Texas for 24 years, the wins across the state are HUGE and a long time coming! Of course, most of the races were non-partisan (in theory) so we'll have to see if it translates into partisan voting in the midterms. I know Kendall Scudder (the new TDP chair) and he's amazing, so I have no doubt he'll do great things. The state of Texas politics is very important because if we can make changes there, other red states will follow.

Yeah it’s literally night and day from you last party chair’s job. He’s already showing his chops. I’m very very impressed. Seems like he’s gonna put Texas on the map in the same way Anderson Clayton is putting NC

Yeah, Hinojosa was bad. We tried to get rid of him for years. We almost succeeded in replacing him with Wendy Davis several years ago but it all felt apart. He even threw his daughter under the bus with that situation. Texas politics should be called Texas crazy. I hope Kendall can course correct and soon. Not for nothing but he's a great public speaker: entertaining and can talk easily without notes.
