Three Wins Today: June 10. 2025
I hope you have found some good wins today. During times of immense collective stress, it’s sometimes harder to find them because our FYPs are flooded with one single situation, LA, in this case. But, I promise there are still so many wins, you just have to look a bit harder for them. Usually I use my FYP, but r/VoteDEM on reddit, is one of my favorite antidoomerism sources, and I highly recommend.
Anyway, here are three of the wins I found today!
Today- Immigration Judge, Carla Espinoza ruled that Ramón Morales Rayes, who was framed for writing a threatening letter to DT, can be released on a $7,500 bond. Christine Neumann-Ortiz from Local Milwaukee non-profit, Voces De La Frontera (Voices of the Border in English) spoke to Ana, his daughter, when the ruling was announced:
I’ve always been my dad’s little girl, growing up with a hard-working dad who makes sure our family has food on the table and a roof over our heads. His support is not just financial. It is emotional. He unites our family. Today’s decision gives us hope that he can be by our side again. We are so grateful to the judge and to the community for supporting us.
Mon June 9 - After almost a month DT finally approved federal disaster funding for the St. Louis tornado. Just a reminder that making noise and embarrassing the administration works. Maybe not every time, but it certainly has zero chance of working when it’s not done at all.
Mayor Clara Spencer said:
This is the first step in really unlocking federal assistance through FEMA that our community so badly needs. No city can shoulder the burden of a natural disaster the size of the tornado that hit us on May 16 alone. It is absolutely impossible to do that without the assistance of FEMA.
Mon June 9 - Huntington Park City Council member, Johnathan Sanabria got a heads up that ICE was coming to the local Home Depot. He got in his car immediately and drove over to warn the day laborers.
He and his other city council members then held a press conference making it clear that ICE is not welcome in their city.
I always say it, but this is why every single election matters, no matter how small it may seem. Elections, every single one, are life and death at this point.
So those are some of today’s wins. I hope they made your day a little better!
Our voices are our superpower, but only when we use them!

Grandmothers Say:
ICE OUT OF CA
Keep Families Together
1000 Grandmothers Bay Area have something to say.
2 days ago there was an idea and conversation. Yesterday there was the group painting of a 4'x24' banner (thank you David Solnit!!) Today there was a banner hang over I-580 at rush hour on the Berkeley Pedestrian Bridge. The honking was NON-STOP for the entire 1.5 hours that the banner was hung.
Big respect for 1000 Grandmothers Bay Area for understanding this moment in history that we are in and the importance of finding ways that you are able to show up for people in your communities and beyond. ❤✊⚡️ Courage and creativity are contagious.

Behind the scenes in Huntington Beach: 1/it was a community effort with Dem and union support.
2/early mail-in reports showed more R than D ballots; therefore, significant R support for the library (some anecdotes from canvassers also indicated some R support).
