Three Wins Today, July 28, 2025
I just had the absolute honor to interview Liz Oyer, and it should be up tomorrow, if I have the time needed to edit. She was the pardon attorney and they fired her when she refused to give Mel Gibson his gun rights back. This is my first interview with a non-elected official who isn’t running for elected office. I’m really excited for this one, and I was wondering, who would you like to see me interview? I can’t guarantee I can get to everyone, but you might give me some ideas of who I should reach out to.
In the meantime, here are three of today’s wins!
Today - My final win on Thursday was about Judge Indira Tawani’s Monday ruling in favor of Planned Parenthood, well that was a partial win, but today we got the full win. She ruled, all Planned Parenthoods must be reimbursed for medicaid funding!
The court finds that the constitutional harm to Members and the healthconsequences Medicaid patients who forego or cannot obtain care may suffer without apreliminary injunction outweigh any financial harm that Defendants might incur if they arewrongly enjoined.
To simplify, she blocked that part of TrumpCare from going into effect. But this is just on a temporary basis for now, there’s more work to be done. As Alexis McGill, president and CEO of the Planned Parenthood National Federation reminded us in her statement:
As this case continues, patients across the country can still go to their trusted Planned Parenthood provider for care using Medicaid. We will keep fighting this cruel law so that everyone can get birth control, STI testing and treatment, cancer screenings, and other critical health care, no matter their insurance.
This fight is far from over, but this is a massive win!
Wed, July 23 - Chart topping Mexican band, Los Bukis got a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame and they dedicated the star to the American immigrant communities. Solís, the band’s lead singer said:
To all the workers who strive every day to serve, I call them the silent force of service in this country, the power of service. Silent, but making a lot of noise and doing a lot for this beautiful country. In these times of adversity, we want to dedicate a few words to you ... we are with you. Our hearts go out to all the people suffering from all these adversities. We fully trust that this will have a prompt solution.
And the fact that this was said in Spanish and translated into English makes it all the more powerful.
You can watch ABC 7’s report:
And the full ceremony is below as well
Wed, July 23 - Ohio State Senator, Tristan Rader joined the Wednesday at Bernie’s weekly protest at Senator Bernie Moreno’s Cleveland office.
If you live in Cleveland and want to attend, you can learn more here
So I hope these remind you that there are wins every single day!
Our voices are our superpower, but only when we use them!

who would you like to see me interview?
US Congressman George Whitesides.
He’s from a RED congressional district in California (rare, I know) that includes rural areas (where I live as a Democrat) in a very urban Los Angeles County. I find him fascinating to watch as he navigates his first term— how to represent his constituents back home while voting for bills/issues that impact the entire US.
He’s Democrat, I’m Democrat. Living in a Trump presidency with our California Gov Newsom fighting back
I believe you’ll find him and his situation interesting
I’d love to see an interview with the Massachusetts AG, a Black woman who was one of the first to sue the Trump administration. THANK YOU for all you do. I cannot stomach much news these days, but I read your Three Wins Today without fail.
