Three Wins Today, July 23, 2025
Today is exciting. I have a list of wins I’m working my way through, so I don’t have to scramble to find three every day, and today I’m using the first thee wins in my list. This might not sound like a big deal, but yesterday, I had to go through eight stories to find the three I shared, so it’s a great day when the first three stories just work.
Anyway, just a little peek into my process. Now, for today’s three wins!
Fri, July 11 - Ríos to Rivers’ Paddle Tribal Water program just finished their historic Indigenous youth canoe journey of the entire length of the Klamath River. This is the first trip on the river since it was freed from the dams last year.
This is their final video log on the 30th day, the end of the journey:
If you wonder what gives me hope, it’s stories like this, this gives me so much hope.

Tues, July 15 - Bozeman, Montana, has adopted the pride flags, yes, all of them, as official city flags. The final vote was 4-1. The resolution reads:
The Pride Flag, and its variants, are hereby declared official flags of the City of Bozeman. The City Manager is authorized to display the Pride Flag or any of its variants at all City owned facilities according to the standard practices for the display of flags. The Mayor or the City Manager may determine when and where variants of the Pride Flag will be displayed.
Let’s go Bozeman!

Mon, July 21 - 14 school districts, including three in Alaska, two in Ohio, Florida, and New York and one in California, Illinois, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, and Texas, are suing the Department of Education over not receiving federal funds that were already allocated.
The lawsuit reads:
But history no longer repeats itself. On June 30, 2025, the Department alerted states that it would not be disbursing nearly $7 billion in ESEA funds that were required to be obligated to states on July 1. Instead, the Department adopted a new policy of “not . . . issuing Grant Award Notifications obligating funds for these programs on July 1 prior to completing [a] review” to ensure the funds “are spent in accordance with the President’s priorities.”
Every time I read about this man’s priorities, I start feeling physically ill. This literally goes against the entire foundation of this country.
I’m so glad these schools are fighting back and I hope to see many more doing the same.

I hope you enjoyed learning about these incredible stories. And I hope you agree with my excitement that these were the stories I got to share today!
