Three Wins Today: Aug 25, 2025
I got to spend the morning with
(CA-37) soo….I’m writing this very late and don’t have time for an intro. I hope you can forgive me.Fri, Aug 22 - The Voter Participation Center and the Center for Voter Information are launching their largest mail-based voter registration push ever. They will send out almost 5m voter registration applications and focus on groups that typically don’t get this kind of attention including: people of color, young people and unmarried women. To date they have registered 6.6m so their goal is to nearly double that.
VPC CEO, Tom Lopach said:
Across the country, we’re seeing more barriers between voters and the ballot box, from more complicated registration requirements to rollbacks on vote-by-mail access. Our national expansion is about meeting voters where they are and ensuring no eligible American is left out of the democratic process heading into elections this fall and in 2026.
I love this so much, especially the mention of elections this fall. We can’t just be focusing on 2026, Democracy is on the line NOW.
Wed, Aug 20 - UK Lingerie brand, Ann Summers was asked by a former employee if they are still as inclusive to trans employees and customers alike as when they worked there. After the Marks and Spencer’s bullshit. which I, thank god, completely missed, this is refreshing.
You can read the whole response on Reddit, but here’s the best part:
I have so many favorite parts, but I think the best part is saying that an ally “challenges homophobia, biphobia and transphobia both publicly and privately.” That shows these aren’t just words on a page, theyaren’t just trying to shut down the conversation. They train their staff and they know what the training means. This is the kind of pushback we need now. And not just in the US, the UK has been even more rife with transphobia than the US, if you can believe that.
Fri, Aug 22 - Illinois Governor, JB Pritzker has signed HB 3709 into law requiring all public colleges to have a pharmacy with birth control, medication abortion, and OBGYN access. The bill was inspired by a student referendum question at University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign about student needs. Two former students Emma Darbro and Grace Hosey testified in front of the legislature to get them to support the bill that they helped create. They were both present at the bill signing. Darbo said:
Our student advocacy with Planned Parenthood started back in 2022, after the overturning of Roe vs. Wade, with a very simple objective: to protect students’ reproductive rights by expanding student access to birth control and abortion services
It’s yet another example of the power of one.
So I hope you learned something new. Sorry that these stories are short, it’s very late for me to be finishing this.
Our voices are our superpower, but only when we use them

These are some great stories! They may be short but I really appreciated these ones. Thank you ❤️
I like that, both privately and publicly. Peace. Joy. Action.
