This WILL be the land of the free again
Daily Dems Doing the Work, Making Noise and Fighting Back Day 198
Whenever anyone says “Democrats are doing nothing” I’m always so flumoxed. I mean, what are you seeing that I’m not.
Cause here’s what I see…
Repping the Rep: Deborah Ross (NC-02) with Rep (VT)
Introducing the Land of the Free Act. A one sentence bill that reads “Section 237 of the Immigration and Nationality Act is repealed.”
Section 237 is kind of long, but it gives a list of all the things an immigrant could do that could get them deported. Trump is using this section to deport those who write articles that say things he doesn’t like. Oh and did I mention it was added in 1956?

Rep Jennifer McClellan (VA-04)
Speaking with East End Health Center’s Dr. Ramesh to explain how this specific center, and two others haven’t received their Title X funding since April. This funding covered things like birth control, but also cancer screenings. Low income families have no other way to get lifesaving care, and not a single Republican seems bothered by that.
I hadn’t even heard the term Title X funding before this video.

Del Pablo Hernandez (PR)
Leading a letter to Kristi Noem about her announcement that she has to personally approve of any FEMA funding over $100k. He and 15 other Dems are demanding to know what her criteria even are, and what the DHS is planning to do when the delays this policy leads to cause further loss of life.
I feel like a broken record when I say this, but if you follow my account, you know that these letters often yield results, something that people who call them “strongly worded letters” still can’t manage to understand.
DNC ( )
Focusing on the shrinking crime rate in DC and around the country, which is in complete opposition to the lies that Trump is choosing to tell.
Everyone talks about a daily messaging segment, Well, this is it, this is the DNC daily messaging segment. It’s called the Daily Blueprint and it’s hosted by DNC deputy communications director Hannah Muldavin.
Every single episode includes what Republicans are doing, what Dems are doing about it and calls to action for us to take. And yet, people either don’t watch it, or say it’s not what they wanted.
It’s exactly what you wanted. It’s exactly what every complaint I read said they wanted. Just some food for thought.
Rep Shontel Brown (OH-11)
Listening to her constituents. That’s right, at her Shaker Heights town hall, her constituents told her about the Global Fragility Act. She did the research, and decided that it was absolutely something she wants to throw her support behind.
This act was introduced by Rep Sara Jacobs (CA-51) and Republican Rep Michael McCaul (TX-10), back in April and would help us promote stability around the world before the conflict starts. Especially with everything Trump has done, this could help us get back to a US foreign policy we could be proud of.
Just another reminder that this is our power. You want your Dem to do something? Don’t assume they already decided not to. Tell them about it. Give them a reason to support or introduce a bill and there’s a really good chance they’ll at least look into it, and maybe even end up signing on.

DNC Vice Chair Malcolm Kenyatta
Speaking on a panel during the Congressional Black Caucus PAC conference about how our messaging doesn’t matter if no one sees it. It doesn’t matter how perfect the message is, if the algorithms are determined to keep our views low, we have to get back in the streets. Find a way to make person to person contact really work.
And he didn’t say it, but I will. WE have to amplify the Dems. If enough of us lift their voices, the messaging will get through. But if instead people say “it’s their job to spread their message” then yeah, we’re fucked.
And finally…
Reps Judy Chu (CA-28), Jimmy Gomez (CA-34), Maxine Waters (CA-43) and (CA-32)
Getting to conduct oversight at Roybal Federal Building in Downtown LA after weeks and weeks of being denied and continuing to show up anyway. What they saw was bad, namely because there wasn’t anything to see, the agents had basically cleared everyone out before they arrived.
But if you think this is their last visit, you would be sorely mistaken. They’re not going to stop until they are confident that these rooms with just a concrete floor to sleep on are not being used to hold abductees.

So, you see, our Dems ARE doing the work. They’re not flicking a magic wand and sending us to a time when everything is normal, but that’s because magic wands don’t exist. They are showing up and listening to their constituents and trying to make things at least 1% better, because that saves lives.
If you made it to the end of this post, comment 👩💻(writer) because everyone must be free to say things the president doesn’t like, whether they are a citizen or not.
If you watched or read any of these stories comment 💡(lightbulb) because I hope one went off for you while reading this that Dems are, in fact, doing the work.
Our voices are our superpower, but only when we use them!

Sometimes I'd like to ask people who say dems are doing nothing what they think they should do, while reminding them they don't have the majority, the republicans control all committees so we can't impeach him or pass laws. What the democrats are doing now as you've pointed out is the best they can do.
Thank you! I know the Dems are doing the hard work, mostly because of your work. I now know I need to share more of this with my people because they are not seeing it. 👩💻💡
