The Dem unified messaging the algorithm hides
Daily Dems Doing the Work, Making Noise and Fighting Back Day 200
The Dems are unified, but you wouldn’t know it looking at your feed. Today is the 90th anniversary of Social Security and the Dem Social Security Day of Action, but all these stories, have less than 2k views.
And I wonder why people think Dems aren’t doing the work…
Repping the Rep: Deborah Ross (NC-02)
Held a town hall on Social Security at the Garner North Carolina Senior Center.
DNC ( )
Used today’s Daily Blueprint to explain the history of social security, which I feel far less people know that you or I would expect. But they also explain where we are and where Dems want to take us.
Among voters, social security is a beloved social program. If only the ones that voted Republican truly understood that it’s not all talk, their electeds really are trying as hard as they can to get rid of it
Rep Val Hoyle (OR-04)
Used her platform today to discuss how she is working to make social security even better. She introduced the Social Security Expansion Act back in February with Sens Bernie Sanders (VT) and (MA) and rep Jan Schakowsky (IL-09). Of course, given who controls the committtes, it hasn’t gone anywhere, but hopefully we vote in a way that ensures it does next time it’s introduced.

Sen (AZ)
Spoke with the Dora Vasquez, the executive director of the Arizona Alliance of Retired Americans. They spoke about the future of social security, and it’s an impotant reminder, some changes do have to be made soon to keep it running. We need to be in power soon enough to make those happen.

Rep Teresa Leger Fernandez (NM-03)
Felt this was the perfect moment to bring up the new scam emails coming to seniors from the government. Trump wants you to believe TrumpTax will include a tax break for seniors on Social Security, that’s a lie. In fact everything he says about these tax breaks are a lie. And Rep Leger Fernandez explains why so well.

And finally
Rep Joe Morelle (NY-25)
Joined AARP NY for their Social Security anniversary celebration. He listened as seniors talked about the importance of social security in their lives and how they have or will be effected by Trump gutting the department.

And that’s just six of the dozens and dozens of posts about Social Security’s 90th Anniversary on this Day of Action. But it doesn’t matter how strong or unified their messaging is if no one is around to hear it. You can say Dems need better messaging, but, do they? This messaging seems pretty damn unified.
I think a better framing is the algorithim sucks and we have to fight against it every single day. If we don’t share their messaging, how will anyone see it to decide if the messaging is the problem? And I dont’ know about you, but I’m still thinking about Rep Leger Fernandez’ video. That messaging seems pretty perfect to me.
If you made it to the end of this post, comment 💵 (a stack of money), cause we deserve to see the money we EARNED.
And if you watched or read any of these stories, comment 👵🏼 (grandma) because seniors deserve to see that money NOW.
Our voices are our superpower, but only when we use them!

Words have meaning. *grumble* Social Security is an entitlement. We earn the right to benefit (become entitled) through qualifying work requirements. I'm tired of allowing "entitlement" to to be used as a smear. 💵👵
