If you think No Kings doesn't matter
Read this...maybe it will change your mind
Calling all people who think No Kings ❌👑 is bullshit!
What are you doing?
I’m seriously asking, what good do you think comes from trying to stop people from getting involved?
You say you want a General Strike? So does Indivisible.
The thing is, we don’t live in a fantasy world with fairies and superheros. There’s no magical glitter dust that you can sprinkle over people to wake them up from apathy.
It takes time, and patience and actual work.
As Indivisible co-founder Leah Greenberg says, it’s about building the muscle. And every single call to action we respond to makes that muscle stronger.
According to Erica Chenoweth, 3.5% of the population has to activate to take down an authoritarian regime. That doesn’t mean one time, that means sustained.
That means we have to take every protest seriously. It means a massive focus on mutual aid, and it means that anyone you encourage not to be involved is setting the date back for your end goal.
The point of No Kings is to continue building that muscle. Getting a lot of people who care to come together in one place and then convincing them to stay involved.
It’s about showing those people that they’re not alone and they CAN do this.
We need MORE people and this is how we get them. Less people who are more dedicated is, in fact, not the answer this time.
And to those of you who complain that they’re aren’t enough protests happening.
“Why is No Kings Day only once every few months?”
I can promise you, no matter where you live in the US, there is some protest by you every single week and maybe even at least one a day.
But some protests get 15 people, or maybe even less. So, unless you are literally there, you won’t know about it.
If you do your research, and show up, instead of complain, then there will be 16 people. And if someone else did that there would be 17, and before you know it, that event isn’t so small anymore.
And, just because you’re not hearing about something doesn’t mean it’s not happening — It also doesn’t mean it’s not making a difference.
Small local protests make a huge difference in the local areas they’re in. Impacting our local governments and businesses is just as important as making an impact at the national level.
If you want something more dramatic, fine, make it happen.
If you can’t? Well that just proves that maybe protesting is foundational and needed rather than laughable.
You think you can do better? Prove it.
Otherwise? Join us! Get involved in the things that are already happening. Cause if you’re just sitting there and complaining, you are doing a lot to hurt the cause you claim to care about.

Yep! 100%. People criticize that there’s no “ask” in the NO KINGS protests, but I can tell you that the protests we’ve held here with specific asks—abolish ICE, keep Hegseth out of our town (he was here, unfortunately)—almost no one shows up.
For whatever reason, NO KINGS gets people out there.
No Kings detractors are being Trump's useful idiots, to the point I would be shocked if Russia wasn't trying a disinformation campaign to divide his opponents
