Primary Season Starts Now
So Don't Fuck It Up
It’s the first election day of Primary Season. That means that between now and August, most elections are about choosing which Democrat goes to the general election.
Unless you live in Washington, California or Louisiana (kinda), this is a time to focus on getting the candidate you align with the most, THAT HAS THE BEST CHANCE OF WINNING, to the general election.
But, after your primary election (and runoff, if you have one,) you MUST get behind the Democrat — unless you have a race where the Independent or Green is somehow more viable, like Nebraska Senate, for instance.
For instance, if you live in Texas, and you vote for James Talarico for Senate today, but he loses, you MUST get behind Jasmine Crockett.
This isn’t the time for games, this isn’t the time to pretend there’s a better option in random Jill Stein-esque candidate who pops up in three weeks.
No matter who the Democrat is, they are better than the Republican option.
There are constantly posts going around saying “Do you regret voting for John Fetterman,” and I hope, if you live in PA, your answer is “In the general? Fuck no.”
If you voted for him in the primary, yeah that’s a valid regret, but in the general?
He’s a really terrible Senator, BUT, Dr. Oz would have been worse. Fetterman votes with Republicans so much more than we’d like, but he still votes with Democrats sometimes.
You know how often Dr. Oz would have voted with Democrats? Approximately 0% of the time. That’s like asking how often Tommy Tubberville votes with us.
I take whatever the fuck Fetterman is doing over that, every single day.
There is no situation where voting for the Republican is the better option right now, at any level.
We have majorities and supermajorities to keep and create, School Boards we need to flip and so much more.
The primary is your chance to have your voice heard. Your shot to get your favorite candidate, who actually has a shot at winning, to the general election.
After that, you accept what you get. You worked hard for the candidate closest to perfection, and now it’s time to suck it up.
Cause if you don’t, well…we’re literally living in that reality. I don’t like it very much, do you?
YOUR VOTE IS YOUR VOICE AND THAT VOICE IS YOUR SUPERPOWER, BUT ONLY WHEN YOU USE IT!

Oh!!!! Amen, amen, amen. You can blame me for Nixon as I voted for Shirley Chisholm - in my young, idealistic years! I have regretted it every time I think about it. Yes. She was worthy but I completely threw away my most precious vote. Please do not do that to yours!
