Rep Steven Horsford (NV-04)
Went back to the Nevada Southern Detention Center, and this time he got in, and saw the horrific conditions. It was only three weeks ago that he showed up and was barred from entering.
So, he wrote the Ranking member, Rep Lauren Underwood (IL-14), and Republican chair of the House Appropriations subcommittee on homeland security demanding an investigation into DHS and the fact that he wasn’t allowed in the first time, and that the conditions were so horrible this time.
I’m sure Rep Underwood will do everything in her power to make this investigation happen, the Republican, probably not.

Today’s episode was a deep dive into the Inflation Reducation Act and how Trump wants to dismantle it, even though it helps red states the most.
Sen Richard Blumenthal (CT)
Was at the Hartford Community Health Center to show is commitment to fighting back against Trump’s attempt to punish Connecticut for their vaccine mandates.
Rep Maxine Dexter (OR-03)
Conducted an oversight visit at the ICE processing center, which she clarified is not a detention center. But because she gave notice, and she’s certain that’s the only reason she was let in, no one was there, not even the employees. But don’t worry, she will be back.

And finally,
Sen (GA)
Had yet another win against Trump. This time he got federal funding for program for foster kids to be restored. He sounded the alarm several times over the last few months and held press conferences and round tables, and I’m sure sent a strongly worded letter or two, and made it happen.
Trump doing something NEVER means it’s permanent, as long as we have people like Jon Ossoff in office.
