ICE ICE GO AWAY, Come Again, NEVER!
Doomerella Gets Schooled 5 (If you saw this earlier, no you didn't)
This week, Doomerella mostly learns how Democrats are fighting back against ICE.
The most infuriating story, I think, is what’s happening in Louisiana, because it’s been happening since December. And would you believe it’s the first even I heard about it?
Following all our amazing Dems:
Rep Pramila Jayapal (WA-07)
Rep Troy Carter (LA-02)
Rep Bennie Thompson (MS-02)
Rep Tim Kennedy (NY-26)
Rep Seth Magaziner (RI-02)
Rep Sarah Elfreth (MD-03)
Rep. Kelly Morrison (MN-03)
Rep Linda Sanchez (CA-38)

Transcript:
A: Doomerella, what’s with the hats?
D: Trying to figure out what to wear to a protest.
A: You’re going to protest?
D: Yeah, don’t sound so surprised.
A: You shit on protests every single day, I’m allowed to sound surprised.
D: Yeah, well, maybe it actually makes a difference…
A: What?
D: MAYBE IT ACTUALLY MAKES A DIFFERENCE.
A: the light blue one.
D: What?
A: you’re still holding the hats, that one.
D: This one?
A: Yeah, it has the switchboard number, which is important always.
D: That’s what that is?
A: Oh my god. Yes, that’s the number to call Congress. You’ve been calling Congress right?
D: No.
A: DOOMERELLA!
D: But I’m going to a protest, so you’re happy right?
A: (silence)
D: Right?
A: Maybe once you see some Dems fighting, at the very least you’ll call to thank them.
D: Fine, who do you have this week?
A: There was another field hearing
D: Like the St Paul one? You’re talking about Pramila Jayapal again this soon?
A: Yes, and no, it wasn’t Rep Jayapal.
D: Who was it?
A: Troy Carter. It was about the Louisiana ICE Operation.
D: What? They’re in Louisiana?
A: They’ve been there since December.
D: WHAT?????
A: Yeah, He was joined by Bennie Thompson, seth magaziner and Tim Kennedy. Here’s his post from the hearing. Alanah Odoms, Executive Director, ACLU Louisiana is testifying.
(watches clip)
D: Wow. I…I had no idea
A: I don’t think most people do. I’m glad minnesota is getting the attention it rightfully deserves, but there are ICE operations all over the country
D: I wish this field hearing had had more impact
A: it still can. We learn about things after the fact all the time, maybe this can be one of them.
D: Yeah, I guess, what else
A: Sarah Elfreth posted a long video with jennifer whitlock, senior policy advisor at national immigration law center discussing what to do if you see ICE.
D: You’re not gonna show me the whole video, are you?
A: No, that was not the plan, but I wanna show you what they said about congress. Here, take a look.
(watches the video)
D: Oh that’s better than I thought. That could actually help someone.
A: yeah I think so too. The more people know how to handle this kind of situation, the better.
D: Are all your stories about ICE this week?
A: Most of them, yeah. I mean…it’s unified messaging, isn’t that what you want?
D: Okay, point taken, what else?
A: Kelly Morrison and other Minnesota electeds were denied entry into Bishop Henry Whipple Federal Building where ice is holding people, shortly after, she joined Joe Neguse’s lawsuit against Trump and his administration.
D: What took her so long?
A: I don’t know, maybe she wanted to witness the destruction for herself first? Here, she talks about it in this video.
(watches video)
A: I really like how she focuses on the medical aspect, since that’s her specialty as an OB
D: She’s an OB?
A: She is, the the only pro choice one in congress, unfortunately.
D: Wow. Well, I really liked how she brought that up too, it feels more real knowing her background. Okay, is the last one also ICE?
A: No, healthcare
D: Oh right, the ACA, that’s happening now too.
A: Yeah, it’s easy to forget with *gestures to everything*
D: Who do you have?
A: Linda Sanchez questioned the Healthcare CEOs at the Ways and Means hearing. And while one is doing the right thing, she’s not letting the others get away with anything. Watch this
(Watches video)
D: Oh wow, that was really strong language. Why have I never heard of her
A: Glares
D: Right okay, you don’t have to answer that. Okay, I guess maybe, it’s possible, if you really think about it
A: Just spit it out Doomerella
D: Dems might actually be doing some good things.
A: (opens mouth)
D: Don’t even start.
