Food or school supplies, which would you chose?
Daily Dems Doing the Work, Making Noise and Fighting Back Day 201
After filming the video (which you can find at the bottom of this post) the one thing I’m still thinking about is that some parents are having to chose between feeding their family and getting their kids school supplies.
Despicable
Repping the Rep: Deborah Ross (NC-02)
Reminds us that everything we thought would happen with vets needing care from the VA is happening.
This marks the end of Rep Ross’ week. I hope you enjoyed learning what she’s fighting for. She might not be the best when it comes to social media, but she certainly cares and is working hard. Hopefully she’ll figure out what works best for her social media content soon and I will be posting her constantly!
DNC ( )
focused on back-to-school for today’s Daily Blueprint. There’s a difference between hearing that prices are going up and hearing what that actually means. Curtis cites an intuit creditkarma article that says that more than half of parents surveyed said they are having to chose between groceries and their children’s school supplies.
That stat will stick with me long after I post this article.
I also just want to shout out this Daily Blueprint in general. They’re finding the balance between memes and important messaging, I think.
(OH-01)
Spoke with me about his Pledge to America, a ten bill package that would fix so much that is wrong with America. Basically, I read and hear a lot of people complain about how Dems talk about what’s wrong but don’t have a plan to fix it. This is the first step of this plan, now it’s our turn to give it legs.
You can, and I hope you do, watch the full interview below!

(VA-10)
worked really hard in the Virginia legislature to not let the monopoly-owned toll road increase their prices. A few weeks ago, the VA Supreme Court upheld the hard work he and his colleagues had done.
It’s not easy to get tangible wins in the current US house, but it’s great to be reminded of the wins our reps had before to really drive home what they are fighting for every day and capable of when we give them the power.

Rep Janelle Bynum (OR-05)
has a new series where she actually answers comments she really gets in her comment sections. And, if you know anything about these comment sections, that’s not for the faint of heart. Unfortunately most people barely look at the people before acting like the member of congress is a magician not using their wand.
I’m really excited to see more of this series, it’s a really exciting level of transparency.

And finally…
Kim Schrier (WA-08)
Has a new website counting down the days until most people’s health insurance premiums will go up. And get this, she even has a call to action. If you are her constituent, she wants to know the exact day your insurance goes up and by how much. This way, when Republicans say it’s not happening, she has the receipts.
I love a post with a call to action!

So I hope this is, yet another, reminder that our Dems are doing the work.
If you made it to the end of this post, comment 🛣️ (freeway) cause lower toll costs do matter.
If you watched or read any of these stories, comment ✏️ (pencil) because no one should EVER have to chose between school supplies and food.
Our voices are our superpower, but only when we use them!

(Freeway) (pencil) You rock! Thank you for keeping our focus on the good stuff.
