Election Day is Every Tuesday: Oct 14
OKC, ready to improve your city?
Today is very easy, but that doesn’t mean it’s not important. And I do mean today, cause, from what I can tell, there’s literally only one election this week, and it is today. Super rare.
Today’s election is 11 bond measures in Oklahoma City. Bond measures are how cities get the money to repair and improve things. Things like libraries and schools. This is how potholes get filled and bridges don’t fall apart. These elections are not glamorous, and turnout is regularly so incredibly low, but they are how a city runs and should get so much more attention.
This is the largest bond election in OKC history, so this isn’t a small thing.
So, here is today’s election.

You can find more info about what each of these propositions entail here.
Proposition 1 - Bond Issue to Fund Street Construction and Improvement Measure
Proposition 2 - Bond Issue to Fund Bridge Construction and Improvement Measure
Proposition 3 - Bond Issue to Fund Construction and Improvement of Traffic Systems Measure
Proposition 4 - Bond Issue to Fund City Maintenance and Data Facilities Measure
Proposition 5 - Bond Issue to Fund Economic and Community Development Measure
Proposition 6 - Bond Issue to Fund Parks and Recreational Facilities Measure
Proposition 7 - Bond Issue to Fund Library and Learning Facility Improvements Measure
Proposition 8 - Bond Issue to Fund Improvements to Drainage Systems Measure
Proposition 9 - Bond Issue to Fund Public Transit Systems Measure
Proposition 10 - Bond Issue to Fund Public Safety Facilities Measure
Proposition 11 - Bond Issue to Fund Firefighting Facilities Measure
So that’s literally all I know about this week, but I hope, if you live in OKC, this makes you figure out how to vote before polls close.
Trump isn’t helping out with anything with anymore, and while blue states are preparing, red states aren’t. You have a chance to make some improvements to your city and he can’t do anything about it.
Your vote is your voice, and that voice is your super power, SO USE IT!

Looks like a lot of (all of?) the bond measures passed! Go voters!
