Election Day Is Every Tuesday 11/15
Saturday, this time.
Yes it is Saturday and yes polls close in about 4 hours, but hopefully this can help someone who forgot to vote or didn’t know there was an election.
We’re looking at races in Louisiana and Massachusetts. The Louisiana ones are a pretty big deal.
Let’s begin!
And, of course, thanks so much to Nancy for finding all this info!

Most elections are propositions. I’d write them all out, but Ballotpedia laid them out really well, and I don’t think I could do a better job.
There are proposition elections in: Acadia, Allen, Ascension, Avoyelles, Beauregard, Calcasieu, Caldwell, Cameron, DeSoto, East Baton Rouge, Jefferson, Jefferson Davis, Lafayette, Lafourche, Lincoln, Livingston, Natchitoches, Orleans, Rapides, Red River, Sabine, St. Bernard, St. John, St, Landry, St. Tammany, Tangipahoa, Terrebonne, Union, Vermilion, Vernon, Webster, West Baton Rouge, West Carroll, and Winn.
If you live in one of these parishes, and you haven’t gone to vote, do so now!
Massachusetts
Plymouth County
Abington
Select Board
Nicole Emery – Priorities: affordability and responsible budgeting, increasing commercial tax revenue and adjustments to budget line items, cautious about bringing in government run businesses that would not generate tax revenue, retain small town feel, address water capacity issues, utilize Union Point for commercial development, attract new businesses, control costs while supporting responsible growth, strengthen public safety by ensuring first responders have resources necessary, tackle the issue of trash collection while keeping costs affordable
Michael Lavery - Priorities: keeping Abington safe, affordable and communal by shrinking the senior housing waiting list, making housing accessible and affordable so people can save for a downpayment on a house, make sure people have access to food through resources such as public gardens. Provide access to a full-time social worker to help struggling families find resources for mental health, food, job hunting and housing. Create pride in Abington by creating a town that is welcoming, pays teachers enough to live in town, a town where everyone can buy a home and retire and enjoy Abington in their golden years.
Okay, so hopefully this helps someone, even though voting is over soon.
Remember your vote is your voice and that voice is your superpower!
