Daily Dems Doing the Work, Making Noise and Fighting Back Day 289
A story of wins in 7 parts.
I’m not going to be giving a whole lot of commentary because well, it’s late and I’m gonna kinda tell a story cause our fighters tell a pretty cohesive story today. Also that means no quotes, you’re just gonna have to watch the videos, sorry.

We start in the Rules committee where
(MA-02)
Welcomed Republicans back to work. I have never seen so much snark and disdain. Which is today’s reminder why we need to vote so we are in the majority.

We then head over to
Rep (VT)
Who explains the provision Republican Senators snuck into the CR to create the biggest corruption scandal yet.
Now you might think why does this matter if we didn’t even have time to message on it.
Well, it mattered to
Rep Susie Lee (NV-03)
Who, as of yesterday was on the list I was given of those who might cave. But leadership spent all day whipping, and with her, mostly because of this provision, they were successful.
On top of and as part of this whipping dozens of House Dems held a press conference on the Capitol steps.
I really like what
Shomari Figures (AL-02)
said about his district and this healthcare fight.
Unfortunately this whipping didn’t work with everyone, and that was kind of to be expected. The 6 Dems that did vote for the CR just don’t think leadership knows their districts well enough for anything they say to be convincing.
However, one of the members who did vote for the CR belongs in this post for a different reason.
Rep Marie Glusenkamp Perez (WA-03)
Followed her gut and brought a resolution to censure Rep Chuy Garcia (IL-04) to the House floor.
Why? Well I’ll let her tell you.
And as Glusenkamp Perez says, it’s not very Democratic. Leadership wishes she had done it a different day, frankly, so do I, but I’m also glad she did it at all.
Meanwhile,
Leader Jeffries
wasn’t done. He filed a new discharge petition, this time for the ACA premium tax credits, cause he knows that Mike Johnson will do everything in his power not to bring it to the floor. As of this post, it has already been signed by 174 Dems.
And finally, of course, the best news of all.
REP Adelita Grijalva (AZ-07)
was OFFICALLY sworn in, and joined the Epstein discharge petition. Johnson now has 7 days to bring it to the floor. And he’s already said he’ll be doing so next week.
Here is our newest Rep with her Dem Women’s Caucus colleagues
So yeah, there was a major loss, but each one of these fighters gave us wins that really matter and that shouldn’t be overlooked.
If you made it to the end of this post comment 🏖️ (beach) because that’s obviously where the Republicans were for the last 8 weeks.
And if you watched or read any of these stories, comment 🗂️(files) because Epstein’s are well on their way to being released.
Our voices are our superpower, but only when we use them!

Congratulations Representative. You got this.
