Daily Dems Doing the Work, Making Noise and Fighting Back Day 243
These are the tools
I’m so glad so many people read my posts, but just reading my posts isn’t going to make it more likely that you see what Dems are doing. It takes following them (on their government AND campaign accounts). My goal is that things I don’t post about start going viral too. I want you to have the tools yourself.
So, here’s who you should consider following today!
Repping the Rep: Valerie Foushee (NC-04)
Explained a bit about what Democrats are trying to do before a possible shut down. And it’s not trying to compromise with Republicans. It’s trying to pressure them into doing the right thing and bringing back some of the healthcare funding they got rid of:
With the cost of living already too high, working people can’t afford a Republican shutdown, but we won’t give up the fight. Republicans need to meet us at the table and work out a deal that lowers costs, protects healthcare and serves the needs of the American People
Please call your Republican electeds and demand they come back to the table. Talk about how much more your ACA healthcare is going to cost (the paperwork has already gone out.) Let’s keep trying to protect Americans while still keeping the government open.

Rep Pat Ryan (NY-18)
Has launched a new PAC. It’s called “Patriot PAC” cause Republicans have owned that word for far too long. His focus is on getting public servants elected. He told the Daily Freeman:
I refuse to let MAGA wrap themselves in the flag while destroying the freedoms I risked my life to defend. I’m launching Patriot PAC to build the bench of servant leaders to win up and down the ballot and actually deliver for the American people…There are millions of Patriots across this country – veterans, law enforcement officers, first responders, union leaders – fed up with how things are going, and desperate for change; they often just aren’t sure how to make the jump to elected office.
We NEED more public servants in office. People who know what it means to actually care about other people, as supposed to the hedge fund billionaires being elected on the other side. And these first endorsements are hyper local. County Supervisor, sheriff and City Council. We need to be competitive at ALL levels of government and this is great way to make that happen.
We need to win every single election and this is how we get closer to making that a reality.

Rep Dan Goldman (NY-10)
Met with Ashley Spivey to discuss the SHINE For Autumn Act, which would improve data collection in still births and put funding towards education as well as prevention. Rep Goldman explained the importance of data:
The data that this bill would collect is so essential for our government, our policymakers, to understand what a significant problem this is, as you talk about, Ashley, to make sure that everybody understands the degree of this problem, which is far greater than is currently understood.
Basically, in many ways, just introducing the bill over and over again is doing part of what the funding would be going towards, educating and raising awareness. And with more funding for more data to study still births, there can be more concrete steps for how to make them happen less. But we need more research first.
I think it’s important to talk about conversations our electeds are having like this, because this is walking the walk. This isn’t just saying, I care about healthcare, this is Rep Golman showing what he is trying to do to make it more equitable.

Rep Becca Balint (VT)
Got videos from five women doctors in Vermont spreading the fact that acetaminophen is not harmful during pregnancy.
I think it’s a great messaging tactic to show several doctors all saying the same thing, doctors that know more than every single person currently in the HHS.
Personal stories and experience make the most effective noise.

So those are some of today’s fighters. There are so many more, so please be on the lookout yourself and then amplify!
If you made it to the end of this post comment with 🍂 (Autumn leaves) because we need to bring attention to the SHINE for Autumn Act.
And if you watched or read any of these stories, comment with 🫄🏽(pregnant person) because this disinformation from RFK Jr is SO dangerous.
Our voices are our superpower, but ONLY when we use them!
