Daily Dems Doing the Work, Making Noise and Fighting Back Day 210
The first time you are hearing about these stories, or god forbid, these members, shouldn't be from me.
I’m tired of hearing arguments against our Dems that I know are false, and the person spreading them would too, if they just took a second to verify.
Anyway, I hope when you see something against our Dems you research the claim first, instead of just believing it.
Repping the Rep: Joe Courtney (CT-02)
Is raising alarm about Trump shutting down the Revolution Wind Project that spans the coast of Connecticut and Rhode Island.
The project is 80% complete and the Trump administration told the contracting company they have “concerns related to the protection of national security interests of the United States.” Funny, since the project underwent strict review by the Bureau of Ocean Energy Management, and the coastguard when construction first started.
Courtney is not happy about this letter. In a statement he said:
This morning, I have been in contact with Ørsted’s leadership, my colleagues Seth Magaziner and Gabe Amo from the state of Rhode Island, New London Mayor Michael Passero, and the building trades who confirmed that this order, if executed, will terminate the jobs of approximately 200 workers in the trades, suppliers, and tug crews. In addition, the order cancels a much-needed expansion of energy capacity for the state of Connecticut at a rate that was negotiated below current wind energy projects.”
I’m really glad he brought attention to this, cause I wouldn’t have known about it otherwise

Rep Mark Desaulnier (CA-10)
Gave his weekly Week in Review, and it’s one of the most thrurough ones I’ve seen.
This week he hosted a town hall with Rep Jim McGovern (MA-02), Ranking Member in the Rules Committee. He went to LA on behalf of two different committees.
He met with UCLA students about the research funding freeze, as well as their financial aid and essential needs programs as a member of the House Education and Workforce Committee.
He toured the Palisades fire burn area, as a member of the House Transportation and Infrastructure committee.
He also met with Mayor Karen Bass, cause he was a big supporter of her when she was in Congress.
And that’s not all, but you’ll have to watch the video yourself to find out more.
I don’t think most people think of this role of committee members. It’s not just about their own district. There’s so much going on that they need to be aware of and try to find legislative solutions for.
Rep John Mannion (NY-22)
Joined the Pride Day flag raising and parade at the Great New York State Fair. Or, I can only assume that’s what he was doing, since there’s not a single article about it, unlike back in 2023. Wouldn’t it be amazing if Members of Congress standing up for marginalized communities was worthy of an article in the local paper?

Rep Robin Kelly (IL-02)
And Rep Delia Ramirez (IL-03) moderated, while Rep Raja Krishnamoorthi (IL-08) opened the Congressional Delegation Forum hosted by Equality Illinois, Pride Action Tank and AIDS Foundation Chicago. Rep Lauren Underwood (IL-14) couldn’t be there but she sent a video. The event focused on the needs of the LGBTQ+ community with emphasis on trans and HIV struggles and fears with this administration.
Rep Kelly talked about how once we are back in power, we can’t also go back to the status quo. What existed before was not good enough. Keep in mind, she is running for Senate, as is Rep Krishnamoorthi, so she’s talking about the future of the Senate more than the House, I’d assume.
This post is what sparked today’s Doomerella. There’s this pervasive idea that Dems don’t care about trans people. The largest caucus in the House is the Equality Caucus with 191 members. There are literally only 21 Dems NOT in the caucus. Can you be wary of those 21? Sure, but they don’t speak for the whole caucus and that seems to regularly get lost.

Rep Raja Krishnamoorthi (IL-08)
Was on MSNBC with Alicia Menendez, to discuss the Epstein files. He is a member of the Overight Committee, so this is his main job right now. He explains how they’re going to go through it, how they’re going to compel the Trump admin to release the rest of the files, and even said that as of right now, Maxwell is testifying at the end of September. He doesn’t want to hear from her until he’s had a chance to read all the files. Hopefully he gets his wish.
I mostly included this because one of my followers commented last week complaining that Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries isn’t allowing the Oversight Dems to do anything and they are useless.
Doesn’t seem like that to me.
And finally…
Rep (NY-15)
Posted a history of slavery and why defanging it is inaccurate, disrespectful and dangerous. I can’t do this video justice by explaining it.
Let’s put it this way. I went to a progressive school, and learned new things from this three minute video.
So I really hope this was another reminder that our Dems are doing so much but that doesn’t mean you’re gonna hear about any of it, unless you put in some effort.
If you made it to the end of this post comment, 💨 (wind), cause I had no idea that new wind farm was even happening (was, being the operative word).
And if you watched or read any of the stories, comment 🗄️(file cabinet), cause the oversight committee should have access to every single Epstein file.
Our voices are our superpower, but only when we use them!
