Daily Dems Doing the Work, Making Noise and Fighting Back Day 299
And no one knows these are happening at all
Some days I look at my stories and think “and no one knows these are happening at all.” And this is one of those days. It shows the importance of hearings, and those pesky letters you all love to hate.
Repping the Rep: Dwight Evans (PA-03)
posted his questions from the Health Subcommittee Hearing on Modernizing Care Coordination to Prevent and Treat Chronic Disease in the Ways and Means Committee.
He spoke about his constituent who is a caretaker but chronically ill herself and how the rise in ACA premiums will affect her ability to live.
I mostly include this because I think this is an important hearing to know happened, and watch a bit of, cause, Republicans don’t care about the chronically disabled but our Dems absolutely do and asked the right questions.

Sen Ron Wyden and Rep Adriano Espaillat (NY-13)
leveraged their letterhead to get airlines to stop giving passenger flight data to the government. It worked. The airlines are shutting down the program.
Sen Wyden told 404 Media:
It shouldn’t have taken pressure from Congress for the airlines to finally shut down the sale of their customers’ travel data to government agencies by ARC, but better late than never. I hope other industries will see that selling off their customers’ data to the government and anyone with a checkbook is bad for business and follow suit.
And Rep Espaillat said:
This is what we do. This is how we’re fighting back. Other industry groups in the private sector should follow suit. They should not be in cahoots with ICE, especially in ways may be illegal.
I can’t believe this isn’t getting any attention. Democrats are really good at doing things that are outright wins, and really bad at sharing them. This should be shouted from the rooftops, this is HUGE, and Sen Wyden and Rep Espaillat should be talking about this outright win everywhere, but, I found out because I saw this article.
(for anyone under the impression that I can’t criticize Dems, this must be so awkward for you).
Rep Morgan McGarvey (KY-03)
also spoke about a hearing, his was with OMB in the Budget Committee. Where the OMB Director, not Russ Vought, just to be clear, said that yes, millions of people will lose their health insurance. Which also suggests, they just don’t care.
In my opinion, this is a great video to show Republicans who genuinely think that the people they voted for care about them.

AZ Sens Martin Heinrich and Ben Ray Lujan
collabbed on an IG video of their constituent talking about how much her healthcare costs are increasing.
I really like how she explains it. She talks about how it’s normal that it goes up and maybe services get better, but not like this. And she does everything right, she shouldn’t be punished for that.
I also like it because I think this is such a great way to use the collab feature, showing both senators on the same exact page.

So those are some of today’s fighters. I hope you learned something or maybe found a new favorite elected!
If you made it to the end of this post comment ♿️ (wheelchair) because it’s important to know what our Dems say in hearings like that.
And if you watched or read any of these stories, comment ✈️ (airplane) cause that ARC win is HUGE, and everyone should be talking about it!
Our voices are our superpower, but only when we use them!
