Daily Dems Doing the Work, Making Noise and Fighting Back Day 211
So about my morning...
Somone left me a comment saying “I like Doomerella but you’re supporting the DNC too much.” Well, it’s comments like that that will keep me talking about the DNC. I talk about fighters that are ignored or that disinformation is spread about them. Soo…
Repping the Rep: Joe Courtney (CT-02)
Has some additional sources for yesterday’s story. If you remember, he posted about the Revolution Wind project and how Trump is stopping it with only 20% left to build because of “national security issues.”
Well, today he found the full report of the national security review before the building even started. Making Trump’s accusations look even more unfounded than they already did.
Rep (CA-37)
Invited a few creators to South LA Cafe to chat with her this morning. I was one of those creators. She wanted to hear about our experiences on social media, and we got to learn more about the inner workings of congress. I will probably post this again if/when she posts the photos from the meeting. Also I have to shout out her amazing team. Just the coolest group of people you’ll ever meet.
And this was my first time working with a Member of Congress in person, so I will quite literally remember this day forever.
We each got a chance to do a piece of content with her, so of course I asked for what she’s been up to this week. I learned that she is focusing on getting Black voters out for the November 4th prop 50 election. And I don’t have any sources, because, you’re hearing it here first. Isn’t that exciting?
And yes, she is just as cool in person as you’d think.

Daily Blueprint was a little different today, and looking at the views, maybe that’s a good thing. Today’s episode was an interview with Rep Mark Takano (CA-39), the Ranking Member on the House Veteran Affairs committee. He also authored the PACT act. I think you can probably guess what the interview was about.
And you can watch the whole thing below!
Rep Julie Johnson (TX-32)
Wrote a letter to the Dallas Police Chief on Aug 8 asking if they are working with ICE. She just received a response today, and the answer is, nope, but that could change, so she’s gonna keep asking regularly.
If you’re someone who complains about the letters, keep this in mind next time.
She asked for transparency and she got it.

And finally,
(MN-03)
Went to a food assistance organization to help pack some apples. While there she spoke to them about if they can fill the growing need, now that SNAP won’t be as accessible. They said no.
The post powerful moment, for me, was when Rep Morrison said: “we can’t simply rely on philanthropy to fill those hunger needs”

So I hope you learned some new ways our Dems are fighting back!
If you made it to the end of this post, comment ☕️(coffee), because I just have to thank South LA Cafe again for having us.
And if you watched or read any of these stories, comment with what you learned, and 🍎(apple), because Rep Morrison is right, philanthropy can’t fix this, and I wish Republicans would realize that when they insist they want small government.
Our voices are our superpower, but only when we use them!

☕️🍎 People don’t even know what the DNC does but they’ve turned it into a boogeyman anyway. It’s not a conspiracy, Bernie just didn’t have the votes!
Keep it up, my girl!! Hearing about the fighters in 'the underground' (below the radar) is soooo inspiring. May the road rise to meet your feet.
