Daily Dems Doing the Work, Making Noise and Fighting Back Day 190
Substack is glitching really really badly, so I’m going to try to keep this text as short as possible so I can get this over and done with and hope this glitch works itself out by tomorrow (low expectations, it was bad yesterday too)
Repping the Rep: Emanuel Cleaver (MO-05)
Still represents the Missouri district Trump wants to gerrymander away. And that is probably because he cares about his constituents and the Kansas City infrastructure, like Blue Ridge Blvd.
He’s been working to secure federal funding make it better and today he was there as they broke ground!

Rep Josh Harder (CA-09)
Went back and forth with the administration, as they tried to close the Stockton IRS office and finally said they were keeping it open, but it’s still closed, no matter what the website wants us to think.

Rep Lloyd Doggett (TX-37)
Went on Politics Nation and spoke with Al Sharpton about how the Trump Texas Takeover is just the beginning. If he gets his way, this will affect us all.

Rep Julia Brownley (CA-26)
Announced the introduction of the “Reproductive Freedom for Veterans Act” following Trump announcing that no abortions in any case will be covered by the VA going forward.
I also want to note that even during the August In District Work Period, Dems are still introducing bills to make our lives better.

Sen Peter Welch (VT)
Led a letter to two US-based security companies with Sen Chris Van Hollen (MD) and Reps Sara Jacobs (CA-51) and Joaquin Castro (TX-20). They are demanding to know why they’re getting reports that these two companies played a role in the violence directed at unarmed Palestinians just trying to get food.

Rep Katherine Clark (MA-05)
Did a fantastic explainer about the Texas gerrymandering and why you need to care.

And finally
Rep Gabe Vasquez (NM-02)
Went on an oversight visit to the Otero County ICE facility, where he learned, among other things, the toilets don’t flush and the phones don’t work.

So I hope you now realize that the Dems are in fact doing the work
If you made it to the end of this post comment with a 🔑 (key) so that we can open the door to the IRS office
And if you watched or read any of these stories, comment with a 🪠 cause at the very least they should be able to use the toilet.
Our voices are our superpower, but only when we use them!

🔑 🪠 Several good reports tonight - thanks!
