Daily Dems Doing the Work, Making Noise and Fighting Back Day 262
Our Dems go through it too
I wonder how many members of congress most people who complain that DEMS AREN’T DOING ANYTHING! actually follow…
Honestly, unless they follow them all and look at every single thing they post it’s just a generalization, and given that most people don’t do that…
Dems don’t do events constituents ask them to do
Repping the Rep: Laura Friedman (CA-30)
And
(CA-32) absolutely did. East Valley Indivisible hosted a town hall, and invited them, and they came.If you have an event you want a member of congress at, especially if you can get constituents to show up that they couldn’t, invite your rep! If you can’t get your rep, try for your state legislators, They want to hear from us, that’s the whole point of “in district work period”

The DNC doesn’t new younger candidates. They only care about the establishment.
The DNC ()
Has taken over the National Training department, which was previously housed under the Association of State Dem Committees. Chair, Ken Martin, wanted it to be a bigger deal. So now it is.
Morgan Hines is the director, and they are focusing on training both candidates and leaders. This will create a new generation of staffers, party leaders and of course elected officials. These trainings are about learning leadership, management and having the support to be in these positions without making too many mistakes and burning out.
So I’d say, they very much want new young blood. And they want to make sure the people who want to get involved have the tools to be successful.
Why aren’t any Dems sharing the ACA marketplace letters they won’t shut up about?
Sen Elissa Slotkin (MI)
Is not only sharing them, she has an entire web page for Michiganders to send her theirs.
And based on this letter, it seems like ACA marketplace is just closing in Michigan? Could that be right? Or is this just an exceptionally misleading letter.
Either way it’s bad, and I’m so glad she shared the letter. I don’t think I am on the marketplace, so I probably will never get a letter like this. Seeing it from members of congress, or on social media (if people start posting theirs, which you REALLY should as soon as you get it), is the only way I will see one.

The elite Dems can’t possibly have personal experience with needing healthcare coverage.
(MA-02)
Got a few more years with his daughter, who died in April of a rare cancer, thanks to an NIH trial:
I mean, my daughter had a rare, my daughter, Molly, was diagnosed with a rare cancer over five years ago and was able to get into a trial, an NIH-funded trial at New York Presbyterian Hospital. And, you know, and things were moving in the right direction, you know, sadly. You know, in April, she passed away, but the point of the matter is she wouldn’t have had that extra time without this trial. And I don’t want any other family to have to go through what we went through.
He knows first hand the importance of healthcare and medical trials. And I also love this video cause I’m not sure he could have made it without support from a friend like (MA) there with him, another example of House and Senate Dems supporting each other and working together.
Rep McGovern will never vote for a CR that doesn’t protect healthcare, not just because of his constituents, but because it’s personal too. And so many other members are in the same boat and sharing their own stories.

So those are just some of today’s fighters. I hope I answered some of your questions, and if not, keep reading, I’ll probably answer them eventually, cause, yes, our Dems are in fact fighting back in many of the ways you want them to.
If you made it to the end of this post, comment 🥾 (boot) for all the wonderful DNC next gen boot camps.
And if you watched or read any of these stories, comment ❌ (x) for all the people being kicked off the ACA marketplace.
Our voices are our superpower, but only when we use them!
