Daily Dems Doing the Work, Making Noise and Fighting Back Day 50
I let the Dem disapproval numbers poll get to me today. Part of that is because of the really ignorant comments flooding our Dems’ posts. It’s one thing to express constructive criticism, it’s another thing to comment DO SOMETHING even on posts that are literally about what they’re doing.
So please, if you like any of the Dems and their work below, comment on their posts, follow them on all accounts you have and thank them for their work!
Rep Mike Thompson (CA-04)
Has a series during recess, for at least the last 10 years, called Coffee with the Congressman, and it sounds like a gimmick, but it’s not. He literally goes to a local coffee house and meets with constituents who show up. This is on top of regular town halls. The first one, this recess, was today at Journey Downtown in Vacaville, CA, but he will have several more through the week, including in Sanoma on Wed.
I love this so much. It’s a level of connection and availability we don’t see with reps these days.
Rep Greg Landsman (OH-01)
Went on Fox News to discuss the averted government shutdown, but also how we are kind of in a government shutdown right now anyway. There is a very good chance that those who watch Fox News never even considered that before, and who knows, maybe hearing it made them think.
We can’t know if we are changing hearts and minds, but we can know it won’t even be possible if we aren’t in their spaces.
Rep Kelly Morrison (MN-03)
Along with Ami Bera, M.D. (CA-06) – Internal Medicine, Herb Conaway Jr., M.D. (NJ-03) – Internal Medicine, Maxine Dexter, M.D. (OR-03) – Pulmonary & Critical Care, Kelly Morrison, M.D. (MN-03) – Obstetrics & Gynecology, Raul Ruiz, M.D. (CA-25) – Emergency Medicine, and Kim Schrier, M.D. (WA-08) – Pediatrics, have created the Congressional Doctors Caucus.
Dexter said:
At a time when Republicans are attacking science, slashing health care, and putting politics over patients, Democratic physicians must be organized to fight back.
I can’t wait to see what they do!
Sen Ron Wyden and Rep Janelle Bynum (OR-05)
Held a joint town hall last night, which was over capacity, to the point that some people were sitting on the floor. I think these joint town halls are such a smart idea because, especially after the CR vote, we need to see that the House and the Senate are communicating, as often as possible
And a constituent, who goes by ParkrosePermaculture posted a breakdown, on YouTube, of the entire event. (I hope I’m not putting you on the spot by tagging your empty account, which doesn’t have to be empty…your opinions are invaluable)
If you like my summaries, you will LOVE hers.
Rep Andre Carson (IN-07)
Posted a video in front of the Minton-Capehart Building, which houses the Indianapolis Social Security Office. He used this location because it was on the list of leases to let expire, until he stepped in. Though DOGI insists that not every building on the list was actually going to lose its lease.
Rep Mark Pocan (WI-02)
Held a town hall yesterday, and posted an incredibly petty social media post directed at all the Republicans who aren’t showing up.
It’s everything I needed today.
Sen Elizabeth Warren (MA)
Posted an explainer video about how everyday people are being affected by EM and DT destroying Social Security.
Now, this video probably isn’t helpful for you. If you’re reading this post, chances are you are a political junkie, so you know this info already. But you have to remember, most people have no clue what is happening. However, they might be starting to notice they’re not getting their social security checks or maybe a parent isn’t.
The more we can help spread videos like this one, the better chance there is that someone, who doesn’t understand why politics matters to their life, will see it. And, at the end of the day, the goal isn’t to tell us this info, it’s to get to them.
She’s even using a new hook, and I don’t know about you, but it definitely keeps my attention, and not just because it was on Warren’s page.
If you made it to the end of this post, let me know in the comments with a 🥰 emoji, to let our Dem electeds, who are fighting back, know that we see it and we support them
Please don’t forget to comment on the posts that matter to you!
Our voices are our superpower, but only when we use them

🥰. I’m so grateful for these articles. I have no patience anymore for the people who refuse to acknowledge the work being done and only engage in doomerism. The screaming masses on social media are not indicative of the population at large and they’ll get no help from me spreading their bad faith arguments!
🥰 these posts are just a little light after another crazy day. Thank you.
