Daily Dems Doing the Work, Making Noise and Fighting Back Day 291
We’re as spacey and traumatized as you.
What is wrong with me this week? I can’t stop procrastinating. It’s literally 9pm and I’m just starting this, for absolutely no good reason. I don’t know why you would, but if, for any reason, you think us political influencers have our shit together, no, no we don’t. We’re as spacey and traumatized as you.
Rep Chris Pappas (NH-01)
introduced a bill that would extend the ACA open enrollment period through May 1. This gives Dems ample time to try all sorts of strategies to keep the premium tax credits. I hope it passes, but I’m not naive, I don’t have high hopes.
That doesn’t mean I’m not very happy he’s doing it, though.

Rep John Larson (CT-01)
posted a great clip from his press conference at Intercommunity Healthcare about the admin choosing to starve children.
Sadly, even though this was filmed during the shutdown, it’s still applicable, because USDA is saying everyone on SNAP will have to reapply, and for some people that’s not easy. He’s still using starving children for political purposes.
Rep Julie Johnson (TX-32)
Has a series called “DC Tidbit,” where she doesn’t talk about the most important parts of procedure, but I think is helpful from a civics perspective anyway and I highly recommend watching.
This episode is all about Chaplain Margaret Grun Kibben, the first woman congressional chaplain in it’s over 230 year history.

Rep Maxwell Frost (FL-10)
posted a reminder about the Orlando Florida City Council District 3 runoffs coming. He’s endorsing Mira Tanna and talks with her all about her platform.
As you hopefully know by now, my favorite thing is when local off month, week and day elections get the attention they deserve. It’s also worth noting that this is just one of many run offs, so if you think elections are over in your area, double check, you might have a runoff too.

So I hope you got something out of this, sorry if it was kinda all over the place and for how utterly late it is.
If you made it to the end of this post, comment 💵 (money) cause it would be great if that bill could pass to extend the open enrollment deadline.
And if you watched or read any of these stories, comment 🗳️(ballot box) because, elections aren’t over for the year, there are a lot of special elections and you might just have a runoff, so go check
