Daily Dems Doing the Work, Making Noise and Fighting Back Day 87
Happy news! @jodipicoult shouted me out on TikTok.
Less happy news, I got a new phone and didn't have IG logged in on my computer, so I have no access to my main IG at all, or my Threads on my new phone. It's been a long day.
Anyway, here are our fighters, maybe letting you all know about them will make my day better.
🧵
Repping the Rep: Grace Meng (NY-06)
Attended The Big Shred event held by AARP NY. At no cost to anyone, you could have AARP shred three bags of your documents containing private info for free. Typically, I'd expect this to be something staff members attend, but not the elected themselves, so this is a pretty cool thing. Definitely makes her more approachable to her constituents.
Reps Greg Stanton (AZ-04) and Lou Correa (CA-46)
Have gone on tour! They are heading the New Dems On The Road Tour. They started today with a round table in Arizona about Immigration, they talked to union leaders, DACA recipients and others. Excited to see where they go next!
Rep Robert Garcia (CA-42)
Actually started advocating for Andry Hernandez Romero last week, before going to El Salvador. And, since I didn't know that, I'm guessing you didn't either. He wrote letters to ICE and CoreCivic, the private prison contractor. And he demanded to know CoreCivic's process in working with ICE and why ICE abducted Romero.
And it’s not like this wasn’t posted in an article, it was, Washington Blade got an exclusive of the story 6 days ago. And I guess we all need to make sure we’re following them. But it’s a really important reminder that just because you don’t see anything, doesn’t mean it’s not happening. The media, both new media and traditional, is really dropping the ball.
Rep Luz Rivas (CA-29)
Took her mom grocery shopping. She showed her and her mom picking out what to buy and then talked about how expensive it is, and even mentioned that her mom is on Social Security herself.
It's another great reminder that most of our electeds are not "elite" and they are personally affected too.
Reps Val Hoyle (OR-04) and Brendan Boyle (PA-02)
Have today's WTFShow, Hoyle called it a town hall, which I guess is a good way to look at a live, especially if a lot of people join, all about social security
In the spirit of my sucky day, the URL won’t load, but you can click on it here!
Rep Steven Horsford (NV-04)
Has today's Democratic Daily Download, and it's all about the cost of living. Sydney Kamlager Dove's (CA-37) post yesterday was pretty specific to Los Angles, and Horsford mentions Vegas. I like how they get different takes on the same issue over the course of a couple days.
And finally we have two stories from….
DNC
The first is the conversation between @malcolmkenyatta and chrismurphyct which happened yesterday, and has less than 1k views, which is, frankly despicable

Second, we have the next name added to the People's Cabinet. His name is Ned Price and he left the CIA around this time in the first DT admin. So there could be no one better to break down what's going on with national security and the CIA.
I hope these made your day better, they didn't exactly help mine. if you know anyone at IG that can help me access my account (long story short I was logged out on my computer without realizing it, and the authentication app says my new phone is a new device therefore I’m locked out cause my old phone has been wiped), please let me know!
If you made it this far, comment with 🫂 (hug) I know I've used it before, but I really need one today.
Our voices are our superpower, but only when we use them!

🫂 I wanted you to know that I appreciate the work you do in writing and sending these. It's a lot! And reading them always makes my day a little bit brighter because I don't always have the energy to go and find all these things thst are happening across the country. So thanks! ❤️❤️
🫂 I hope you get your tech issues solved, that is so exhausting. Thank you for persevering for us and putting this together!
