Daily Dems Doing the Work, Making Noise and Fighting Back Day 215
It’s late, I just lost yet another friend over this fucking WIRED article, because they would rather post their own speculation than talk to me. (false alarm, we’re talking tomorrow, it’s late, what can I say.)
So this is going to be short. And not have all the social links. It’s literally 9:11pm, sometimes I end now, but I don’t start now.
Repping the Rep: Joe Courtney (CT-02)
Joined a press conference at the first fully repaired house with Rep John Larson (CT-01) for the Crumbling Foundation Remediation and Restoration program which was only made possible with the $2m in federal funds they got the program in 2022.
That’s right there are still projects started under Biden that are making a difference. This one of them.
Watch the full press conference below!
Rep Lateefah Simon (CA-12)
Got a tour of Hidden Genius, a project that trains and mentors young Black men in the tech industry, leadership and entrepreneurship. Part of the goal is to shift the conversation and Oakland. So glad she’s raising awareness about this incredible program.
Rep Emanuel Cleaver (MO-05)
Is the newest Dem Trump is trying to put on the chopping block. A special session to gerrymander him out of his district was called today. He released a statement:
But let us be clear: Should this effort move forward, we will not concede.
I will not surrender the voices of the people who entrusted me to fight for them. The people of the Fifth District and I will fight relentlessly to ensure Missouri never becomes an antidemocratic state, where politicians choose their voters instead of voters choosing their representatives. In the courts and at the ballot box, we will demand that the rule of law is upheld, our voices are heard, and democracy prevails.
I already made one post, and already got a Missouri activist that doesn’t think it’s worth bothering since they can’t win anyway. We didn’t win Texas either, but the conversation changed. One of our superpowers right now is making noise and getting attention. They WANT to do this in the dark, we can’t let them. If you haven’t posted about this yet, do so now and then keep doing so at least once a day.
All hands on deck, let’s support our Missouri fighters and make sure they know we have their backs!
Rep Shontel Brown (OH-11)
Posted about why energy costs are going up. And the saddest thing is Biden put so many things in place to prevent this and Trump got rid of all of them. I wish people understood how life changing the Inflation Reduction Act truly was.
And finally…
Rep Kathy Castor (FL-14)
Joined a press conference to bring back the Apollo Beach post office and reopen the Ruskin post office, which has been closed since the hurricanes last year. She said:
People have repaired their homes faster than the United States Postal Service has been able to repair this modest Ruskin post office.
It’s honestly such a joke. There are so few post offices that some people have to travel miles to get to one. That should not be happening. But she also mentioned she wrote a letter to the Postmaster General, and as we know, when this administration stops getting away with something, very often it is restored, so I hope soon I get to post about this again because the offices are back.
So that’s what I got today. I hope Sunday is more normal and I can really dig into the stories again.
If you made it to the end of this post comment 🎙️(mic) because Missouri is the Show Me State and we need to show up for them and democracy.
If you watched or read any of the stories comment 📬 (mailbox) cause we need those post offices to be reopened as soon as humanly possible!
Our voices are our superpower, but only when we use them!

🎤 thank you Ariella glad to see the work in Oakland and agree with you that we need to keep voting and we the people are creating change! Labor Day I’m standing up for workers, waving my flag wide and high 🇺🇸☮️🇺🇸💪
