Here are a handful of todayâs fighters
Repping the Rep: Terri Sewell (AL-07)
Is holding what she calls âTerri Talksâ with former Social Security Administration Director and current SSA Peopleâs Cabinet member, Martin OâMalley, tomorrow. Itâs going to be live-streamed on all platforms at 3 PM CDT. Join if you can!
(please remember the above is not her account, itâs a mirror of her Twitter set up by incredible journalists so we on Blue Sky arenât kept in the dark about what sheâs posting.)
Rep Sean Casten (IL-06)
Held a town hall in Carterville IL, one of the reddest parts of the state. There were about 150 people in attendance and the big empty-chair town halls are really important, but we canât forget to amplify the ones like this too.
Chicago Tribune wrote an article about the event and you can watch it here as well
House Judiciary Dems
Is a must-follow on all platforms. Every few days Rep Jamie Raskin (MD-08) posts about what theyâre doing and today that includes the new amicus brief to protect birthright citizenship. Like all previous briefs, it was signed by over 200 House Dems, and this marks the 4th brief theyâve filed in this new world order.
Rep Ted Lieu (CA-36)
Has not forgotten about SignalGate. I know a lot of people were concerned that because other immediate things have happened that need attention, our electeds stopped thinking about SignalGate, but thatâs very clearly not the case. And Lieu isnât just speaking for himself either. Heâs the vice chair of the House Dem Caucus, so this is the Caucusâ priority too.
Rep Mark Pocan (WI-02)
Is joined by Rep Jonathan Jackson (IL-01) for todayâs âMagic Mondayâ where they use card tricks to explain the concept of fairness, or the lack thereof. I really like this series because magic tricks are tricks and cons and thatâs exactly what this administration is doing.
Explaining it through magic makes it less complicated; no one is under the impression that a magic trick is fair.
Rep Dave Min (CA-47)
Posted his Hundred Days In Office video where he explains exactly how heâs fighting back. He talks about what committees heâs on, what bills heâs introduced and more.
I promise, Iâm not gonna share all of these, but there are just some that stand out and really highlight the rep doing the work. This is definitely one of them.
And last, but certainly not leastâŚ.
Sen Chris Van Hollen (MD)
Has said that if Kilmar Abrego Garcia has not been returned to the states by mid week, he plans to go to El Salvador to do a wellness check and do everything in his power to get him returned. He requested a meeting with the El Salvadoran President, but heâs getting an update whether he gets that meeting or not:
Kilmar Armando Abrego Garcia never should have been abducted and illegally deported, and the courts have made clear: the Administration must bring him home, now. However, since the Trump Administration appears to be ignoring these court mandates, we need to take additional action. Thatâs why Iâve requested to meet with President Bukele during his trip to the United States, and â if Kilmar is not home by midweek â I plan to travel to El Salvador this week to check on his condition and discuss his release.
So those are a handful of todayâs fighters. Remember this list is nowhere near complete so donât think for a second that these are the only Dems fighting back.
If you made it this far, comment đŞ(magic wand) cause well we canât make this go away with real magic, magic tricks are a great way to explain a con
Our voices are superpower, but ONLY when we use them!
