Daily Dems Doing the Work, Making Noise and Fighting Back Day 235
I got overwhelmed and distracted because *gestures wildly* It’s just one of those days that feels a bit more hopeless than the others. But, guess what? That’s when we have to fight back the hardest
Repping the Rep: James Walkinshaw (VA-11)
Has only been in Congress for a week, as of today, but he’s already been appointed to the Oversight Committee. He was Gerry Connolly’s chief of staff for many years, so he knows how things work already, but it’s still incredibly fast to be appointed to the most prestigious congressional committee. In his own words:
The committee has jurisdiction over…well, the entire federal government: civil service, contracting, the postal service and much more. This role will give me the opportunity to advocate for the federal workers and businesses in our community, including those impacted by the reckless DOGE policies. I’ll use my voice to push back against the failed policies, hold the admin accountable and carry forward the work of congressman Gerry Connolly.
It’s amazing seeing him hit the ground running so hard.
Rep Morgan McGarvey (KY-03)
Posted a video about who is in the most trouble with the budget Republicans just unveiled, but what I love about his video is that he doesn’t just say it, he shows it too. Saying this will affect kids doesn’t have nearly as much impact as showing a photo.
Not to mention, it will affect all of us, in the end:
If Republicans force medicaid health insurance premiums to go up, everyone’s health insurance premiums go up.
Rep Steven Horsford (NV-04)
Also talked about the budget, but he really went in on Republicans and then talked about bipartisanship, which I felt, when listening, really shows what Democrats mean when they use the word.
Republicans failed and betrayed the american people with their big ugly bill. Now they face a choice. Keep protecting billionares while millions of families like yours struggle, or, work with Democrats to avoid a government shutdown, stop raising healthcare costs, and finally put the American people first.
It’s not about US compromising our values it’s about THEM giving a shit about their constituents. Whenever our Dems talk about bipartisanship, it’s like this, TALKING TO REPUBLICANS. I don’t know how much clearer they can be.

And finally
DNC ()
Has the best post of the week. They have a new series highlighting Dems running in smaller races that you might not have heard of, but races we really need to win.
I’m pretty on top of things and this is the first time I’m hearing about Aftab Pureval. That’s probably a very good sign for this series if even I don’t know everyone. There are eight Dems in this carousel, and they end the caption with “stay tuned for more.”
I love a lot of things the DNC does, but this might be my new favorite.
Now if they could just post it everywhere, instead of just IG and Threads, that would be great.
I know, there’s only four, and I know, they’re not super detailed, but it’s just one of those days, it happens sometimes, but after not posting yesterday, I couldn’t not post today too, so this is what we got.
If you made it to the end of this post comment 🫂 (hug) cause I think we could all use one.
And if you watched or read any of these stories comment 🗳️(ballot box) because I just think a carousel like that is the absolute best way to get attention for candidates that aren’t getting it
Our voices are our superpower, not more than ever, but only when we use them!

🫂 I agree .... its been a day!
